Mechanical Engineer

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage major capital investment projects.
  • Projects are completed on time, within budget and achieve a return on investment.
• Supervise contracted resources while onsite for facility improvement projects. Safety to include at a minimum; toolbox talks, daily work permits and constant supervisor presence.
• Manage various maintenance projects to solve various problems in the mill.
  • Projects are completed on time and achieve the requested goals.
• Maintain technical documents and prints.
  • Ensure all documents and prints are easily available for all plant personnel.
• Manage assigned capital projects for any area of the plant. Also, provide assistance and

Manage electrical disciplines of other approved capital projects.

• Supply the technical support to assist all Vallourec Star personnel on a daily basis, such as trouble shooting various problems in the mill.
• Manage and maintain all technical documentation for the mill such as manuals and prints.

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND KNOWLEDGE:

• Strong communication skills
• Knowledge and skills in AutoCAD, MS EXCEL, MS Project.
• Capable of working independently in a self-directed environment
• Travel 10 % of the time to visit potential suppliers, acceptance tests and benchmarking others facilities.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND CERTIFICATIONS:

• 4-year bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related degree.
• 5-7 years project management experience preferred.
• 5-10 years mill related experience preferred.
• Training in project management.
• 2-5yrs. special training on high voltage equipment.
• Excellent computer skills.
