What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Systems Engineer position at Vallourec North America?
The position works in a collaborative environment, managing process auditing, driving effective generation of corrective and preventative actions (with validation) and works to ensure proper ownership of this, and other system elements reside under ownership of the operational entities. The position focuses on bringing the QMS to life and making it part of the organizational culture, in the pathway of the work the organization engages in daily. The position successfully creates the system as simply part of the organizational culture, driving mindset and behavior. The position also ensures the QMS drives value in quality for the customer and improves the product.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Support company Safety, Quality and Environmental objectives by ensuring compliance to ISO, API and other applicable standards.
- Conducts and oversee QMS programs, which may include audits, training, shop floor meetings, and delivering presentations to various levels of management while ensuring alignment of the program at all Vallourec facilities where QMS oversight is assigned.
- Aid personnel in developing and optimizing procedures as it relates to the QMS, including the support of document management as needed.
- Provide technical support of quality-related topics such as cost of non-quality, CAPA/8D investigation, Quality Visits, management of change, risk assessments, and problem solving as needed.
- Manage quality data and reporting using tools such as Microsoft Excel, Smartsheet and others as needed.
- Participate in the internal audit program, support outside supplier audits as well as recertification and surveillance audits.
- Assist plant quality organizations in developing and maintaining internal quality plans, outside supplier process control plans, and internal Quality Visits.
- Support the Supplier Qualification Questionnaire and Customer Quality Survey activities.
- Support the broad base quality organization and/or other Vallourec entities in various projects as assigned.
- Support initiatives align organization to governance standard updates, addendums and other changes requiring mandatory compliance.
- Support initiatives to consolidate, standardize and simplify the QMS across all Vallourec legal entities.
Work Experience:
- Minimum 5 years experience in a manufacturing QMS role required.
- Lead Auditor certification / training (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, API Q1) preferred.
- Experience conducting audits.
Education:
- BS Engineering or quality-related discipline preferred. Candidates must be degreed, BS minimum.
- CQE or equivalent is preferred.
- Certified ISO / API Q1 auditor / lead auditor status is preferred.
