Key Responsibilities
- Maintain your personal safety, the safety of your fellow Team Members, and the safety of the Roll Shop operations in general.
- Maintain high standards of quality workmanship, professionalism, and teamwork.
- Increase the value of the Roll Shop’s operations to Vallourec.
- Maintain a clean work environment (sweep, clean, wipe, etc.). Area 5S tasks
- Willingness to cross-train in all the Roll Shop Skill Blocks
- Capable of physically performing all the required work
- Keep accurate, legible, and complete documentation as required.
- Participate in continuous improvement teams.
- Ability to understand and act upon:
- Safety rules
- Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures
- Operating manuals
- Mechanical drawings
- Mechanical skills that include:
- Understanding the function and operation of tooling and equipment
- Use of hand tools (e.g., wrenches, pry bars, etc.)
- Use of power tools (e.g., torque wrenches, drills, etc.)
- Use of measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, etc.)
- Assembly, disassembly, and adjustment of mechanical tooling (e.g., bearing replacement)
- Torch cutting and welding.
- Mathematical skills that include:
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
- Ability to convert between whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to convert between English and metric units of measure.
- Operate overhead cranes, jib cranes and motorized vehicles.
- CNC Lathe skills that include set-up, machining, and programming
- Maintenance skills that include:
- Autonomous tasks (e.g., grease, oil, check fluid levels, etc.)
- Minor troubleshooting of mechanical/electrical problems
- Minor repairs of mechanical equipment
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 2-year technical degree and/or Machinist certification preferred.
