Senior Data Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze, optimize, and tune SQL Server stored procedures, queries, and overall database performance.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify performance bottlenecks and implement efficient solutions.
• Fine-tune large, complex SQL queries to improve efficiency and reduce execution time.
• Ensure the data warehouse architecture supports scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Design, develop, and modify SSIS packages to meet business requirements and enhance ETL processes.
• Perform debugging, testing, and troubleshooting of database issues and SSIS workflows.
• Implement best practices in database design, indexing, and query optimization.
• Monitor database and ETL workflows to ensure consistent and reliable performance.
• Document technical processes, workflows, and design specifications.
• Develop and maintain automated solutions for data validation, cleansing, and integration processes.
• Assist in designing and maintaining data warehouse models, including star and snowflake schemas.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure high-quality database solutions and adherence to best practices.

Qualifications Required:

• Proven experience with SQL Server (2019 or later preferred), including advanced performance tuning and optimization skills.
• Proficiency in SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) for ETL development and maintenance.
• Strong understanding of relational database concepts and RDBMS architecture.
• Experience in the insurance domain is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with data warehouse design concepts such as star schema and snowflake schema.
• Knowledgeable about indexing strategies, query execution plans, and optimization techniques.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
