Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient service and clinical support, with knowledge of physiology and experience in various medical settings such as hospitals, urgent care, and clinics. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to patients while assisting healthcare professionals in delivering effective treatment.
Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
- Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs and medical histories.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by physicians.
- Perform basic coding for patient records and billing purposes.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality.
- Manage appointment scheduling and follow-up communications with patients.
- Support the clinical team in various departments including Dermatology, Inpatient care, and PICU.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols within a Level I Trauma Center environment.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of physiology and medical terminology is essential.
- Previous experience in a clinic, hospital, or urgent care setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with coding practices for medical billing is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on patient service excellence.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant or relevant training is highly desirable.
