The Board, Paper & Tissue Solutions Director for North America is responsible for the leadership of a team focused on the business development and profitable, safe execution of Improvement Projects and Field Services within the Board, Paper, and Tissue Segments of our industry. Creating a work environment in which innovation, entrepreneurship and personal improvement is encouraged and supported. This position requires participating in and leading Strategic Planning while instituting a uniform business process within the team and assure compliance with company guidelines.
The success in this position is measured by guiding the team to business success as measured by improved market share, yearly growth in Order and Sales volume, Gross Margin, and profitability. It requires meeting with customers to learn their business needs, present Valmet's technology, and capabilities, and jointly develop satisfactory solutions to help their business and ours. This role reports to the Vice President, Services North America and will have direct collaboration with the global service business line.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Business results with consistent and profitable growth
- Monitoring competitors' activities
- Providing feedback on product development needs to R&D
- Managing department expenses with the established budget.
- Providing required reporting to senior leadership.
- Traveling up to 30% as required.
Expectations
To excel in the role, the ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of the board, paper and tissue industry, its products, processes, customers, and business environment. A bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, business, or a related field is needed. A minimum of 10 years of experience in the pulp and energy industry with a proven record of leading and managing teams.
Strong leadership is required including inspiring others and setting a clear vision and purpose for our teams. Candidate will be expected to communicate the vision effectively and align our actions with business goals. A business professional who fosters collaboration, can also empower, grow, and develop own organizational talent for future company success and sustainability.
