We are seeking an experienced Fiber Line or Causticizing cycle Specialist that has experience with Cooking, Washing & Bleaching or TTA & CE controls, who will lead customer projects through all phases and to an exemplary conclusion.
The purpose of the job is to implement Cooking, Washing, Bleaching or Causticizing control projects, from definition to start-up through configuration and commissioning work, ensuring that technical and quality targets are met. The Advanced Process Control Engineer’s role also includes building relationships with our customers and maintaining a high standard of customer satisfaction.
In This Position You Will Have The Following Responsibilities
Valmet’s Advanced Process Control Group provides high level expert services to optimize our customer’s performance in terms of production, quality, cost and environmental impact.
We are seeking candidates with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in an Engineering field, or an equivalent professional experience and competencies. Candidates should have a strong knowledge in the Fiber Line or Causticizing Process Areas and experience with advanced and regulatory controls & optimization. Candidates should show leadership skills, have strong troubleshooting abilities and/or have experience with process improvement. We will be looking for someone who can show a high level of initiative, who can prioritize and multitask well, and who can build relationships with customers, co-workers, and international partners. You can be a rising talent or a senior specialist, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the field. Python programming skills will be considered an advantage. Finally, candidates must be willing and able to travel as needed, up to 50% of their time.
Travel will typically be domestic in nature but may occasionally involve international destinations.
The option to work remotely is available but the preference would be for someone to live near a Valmet location. This position is also NOT open for immigration assistance. Candidate must be living and authorized to work in the United States.

- Act as a main technical interface for the customer and coordinate with the project team and engineering partners
- Oversee all phases of the project, including Application, Definition and Engineering, Staging and Testing, Installation, and System Commissioning
- Generate reports for project development, system performance, acceptance and post-project feedback.
- Mentor and train other employees; assist Sales Managers and Project Managers as needed
- Provide feedback and input for continual improvement of our product line and processes
