Civil Engineering Intern Position
We are seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for the Civil Engineering Intern position in the Global Utility Division. You will be an active participant in contributing to the goals of the NA Steel Design Engineering team while learning best practices from some of the finest Engineers in the world. You will learn a tremendous amount in this role and will be given exposure to other parts of the business, including subject matter experts from a wide variety of divisions and professions.

Position Overview
- This position is scheduled to start at the beginning of summer 2025, with full-time hours during the summer. There is the potential to continue part-time through the fall semester.
Essential Functions:
- Actively learn the basics of steel transmission pole design
- Assist in design documents revision and loading tests
- Work with a design team that consists of one or more individuals from Manufacturing, Procurement, Service, Quality Assurance, and Engineering Services getting exposure to different angles of team development including the process used
- Apply knowledge from university classroom learning to real-world structural engineering practice
Required Qualifications of Every Candidate:
- Currently a senior working towards a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, graduating in December 2025.
- CAD skills including design applications and converting drawings to 3D models
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint application
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Demonstrated problem-solving/critical thinking skills
