The location of this position can be in either West Columbia, SC or Petersburg, VA; we welcome applicants from either area to apply.
A Brief Summary of This Position
This position is responsible for developing and managing sales activities in the market areas served by Columbia and Virginia Galvanizing. They provide quality and professional representation of the organization across customers & prospects in the region. The position works with site General Managers to establish and execute the strategy targeted to grow sales and profitability while also acting as a liaison to troubleshoot any customer concerns.
Essential Functions
- Establish a consistent in-person sales presence across all major geographic markets in the region
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with prospective and active customers to develop a deep understanding of their values and pain-points.
- Identify new opportunities aligned with the sites’ value propositions
- Analyze market and customer data to determine volume potential, possible customers, and types of material in accordance with the site GM’s recommendations
- Review and discuss new product detail with customers including design for galvanizing
- Collaborate with site GM’s on establishing pricing protocols that meet or exceed AOP margin targets
- Ensure all customer communications and orders are promptly and accurately attended to
- Ensure all internal operation employees receive detailed processing and quality expectation requirements for incoming orders
- Take appropriate action to resolve customer service concerns
- Establish and maintain customer master files on all assigned accounts within VCC Max to provide timely information, minimize quotation and order turnaround time, and to maximize accuracy and effectiveness
