Apply now.A Brief Summary of This Position : The Senior Financial Planning & Business Analyst is responsible for conducting and documenting a variety of moderate to complex financial economic and statistical analysis projects. The position is also responsible for monitoring business drivers to highlight business risks and opportunities in order to influence business decisions. It is part of a team that provides accurate and timely financial analysis, reports, and scenario / pro-forma modeling to support external earnings guidance, internal forecasts, the annual budget and three-year strategic plan as well as other company initiatives. The Senior Financial Planning & Business Analyst is supports a particular segment of our business and is a vital contributor to that segment's goals and objectives. This individual must exhibit strong business acumen, excel in a matrix environment involving a wide variety of stakeholders, and demonstrate a passion for technology and simplification. This position serves as a key enabler of the finance organization by serving as a liaison between the business segment and the FP&A center of excellence.Essential Functions : This position reports to the Director & Business Partner, NA TD&S, with matrix responsibilities with the Vice President of FP&A and has no direct reportsThis role requires up to 10% travel domestically and internationally, including overnight staysPerform financial analysis by leveraging and developing financial models in order to provide insightful financial information that supports our internal customers' ability to make informed business decisions such as pricing decisionsProactively identify business risks and opportunities through profitability analyses leveraging both financial and operational data which can be used to draw conclusions and present recommendations on decision and actions to key stakeholdersLeverage technology to initiate and drive deep dive analysis to enable decision making, execution and / or strategic planning at the corporate, business unit or segment levelPartner with the FP&A center of excellence to support the planning and forecasting processes inclusive of P&L, Balance Sheet & Cash Flow by providing insights on the key drivers for each area of the businessWork with cross-functional teams to define and track key performance indicators which can assist in influencing outcomesProvide support for internal and external presentations and ad / hoc requestsDrive process improvement efforts through initiatives and training others in new ways of approaching financial workDevelop and maintain effective relationships with Financial Business Partners to maintain linkage between FP&A Center of Excellence and the Valmont business segments in order to influence decisionsResearches, analyzes, and synthesizes data from multiple sources into business information as directed and by self-identification of business information needs.Build and maintain detailed and dynamic financial models that are powered by big data to inform quarterly forecasts, budgeting / planning across the P&L, investment evaluation and prioritization, and commercial decision-makingPartner with business stakeholders to understand their financial needs, support company leadership to implement financial and operational goals, and apply financial insights to improve decision-makingInterpretation and leverage of statistical and machine learning modelsServe as a subject matter expert to other analystsRequired Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities) : Preferred Bachelors in Finance, Accounting, FinTech, Economics or related field with 6 years relevant experience or Associates Degree with 8 years relevant experience or 10 years of relevant experienceExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalRefined budgeting skills - ability to create detailed files and then summarize that data so it can be presentedAbility to successfully navigate, prioritize and problem solve in ambiguous circumstancesDesire and ability to take ownership of tasks and work autonomously while part of a matrixed teamAdvanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.Technical curiosity : experience in data analytics and presentation tools; ability to remain current on analysis tools and trends to drive competitive advantage.Advanced financial modeling skills : demonstrated ability to create pro forma or forecasted Income Statements, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow StatementsUnderstanding of macroeconomics factors : how foreign currency and commodities (steel, zinc, etc.) impact financial performance and ability to incorporate this understanding into financial modelingWorking knowledge of valuation and project evaluation techniques such as discounted cash flow analysis, internal rate of return, net present value, return on invested capital, and weighted average cost of capitalCreative "out of the box" thinker who can translate strategies into concrete tactical plansHigh level judgment and decision-making skillsDemonstrates a team mentality with a willingness to do what is necessary for the greater good of the companyInfluence : Self-motivated with an ability to motivate other employees into action;
