What are the responsibilities and job description for the Distribution Center Technician position at VALO BioMedia?
This person’s primary job responsibility is to process, grade & package SPF eggs for shipment to customers, enter all required information into the company-specific IT system and maintain the cleanliness of the Distribution Center. Specific duties required to be performed include the following:
1. Perform load position per SOPs and/or verbal instructions.
2. Perform candling position per SOPs and/or verbal instructions.
3. Perform grading position per SOPs and/or verbal instructions.
4. Perform packaging position per SOPs and/or verbal instructions.
5. Perform all cleaning tasks per SOPs and/or verbal instructions.
6. Collect all required laboratory samples per SOPs and/or verbal instructions.
7. Monitor inventories of all required Distribution Center supplies and inform Distribution Center Manager when inventory is low.
8. Required to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform repetitive movements that require physical tolerance.
9. Responsible for assisting the Distribution Manager with any assigned tasks
10. Strictly adhere to all company safety procedures.
11. Strictly adhere to all VALO BioMedia Animal Welfare and biosecurity rules and procedures.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance manuals, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with customers and other employees.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
General understanding of the use and operation of computers running Microsoft Windows and associated software such as Microsoft Word and Excel and is required to learn VALO’s FLIP system.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions communicated in written or verbal form. Ability to effectively deal with problems involving multiple variables in moderately complex situations.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Must work well with the Distribution Center team and understand the work schedule is based on egg production and hours/work schedules will vary.
