Job Title: Lab Technician

Position Summary:

The technician role is an entry to mid-level role responsible for supporting the laboratory services department. Technicians handle sensitive equipment and collect, analyze and report findings from samples or substances. The technician applies laboratory methodologies to complete tasks and also analyzes test data to ensure the data meets set criteria.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Below are the primary job duties and responsibilities. This is not an exhaustive list of responsibilities. The technician will work as a part of multi-disciplinary team and daily tasks of the role will vary, dependent upon the location, client requirements, and client project:
  • Practice safe work habits, including complying with all safety, health, and environmental rules and regulations
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of cGMPs and associated regulations. Apply this knowledge in the everyday work environment such as data management and documentation activities. Conduct clean room and laboratory cleaning according to standards.
  • Collecting environmental monitoring samples (viable surface/air and non-viable air) of process areas. Conduct environmental monitoring plate reads.
  • Complete gowning training and certifications.
  • Clean steam and compressed gas sampling and testing
  • Assisting with protocol testing as needed.
  • Utilizing standard operating procedures to perform work.
  • Ability to display a professional demeanor; with co-workers and clients. It is expected that all Company employees at all levels to learn and display the VaLogic values of ICARE, Integrity, Customer-centered; Accountability, Respect, Excellence as representatives of the Company.
  • Must be able to travel to and between client sites as assigned. Project assignments could be for extended period of time.
  • Must have a valid drivers license.

Qualifications and Skills

• Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 0-2 years experience
• Skills and Abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbal and written
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and other relevant computer programs
  • Analytical and numerical skills: ability to perform mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply, divide) in different units of measurement; ability to use concepts such as fractions, percentages, and ratios
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in team setting
