Head Coach – Girls Lacrosse
This position offices in-person, on campus
ROLE SUMMARY 
A Head Coach of Valor Christian Athletics exists to prepare tomorrow’s leaders to transform the world for Christ within the platform of the sport. As a committed follower of Jesus Christ, the Coach will provide excellent support of the program including intentional development of the athletes’ faith in Jesus Christ and excellence in Christian Character, while instilling great work habits, and teaching, stressing and monitoring the primacy of Academics.

The Head Coach – Girls Lacrosse is responsible for the strategic development and management of a world-class Girls Lacrosse program. Success of this position will be measured both by individual and team goals. Valor seeks to continually advance the passions and dreams of each student athlete to compete at the highest level possible.

Provide Intentional Development of Athletes’ Faith and Christian Character 
  • Develop and execute Spiritual and Character Development Plan
  • Facilitate the athletes’ development of their God-given abilities to the fullest in both life and on the field
  • Be a positive Christian role model for all the student-athletes at the school
  • Actively foster relationships to establish team and coach buy-in.
  • Conduct proactive conversations and planning with coaches to further develop understanding and trust.
 
Demonstrate Excellent “Follow”-ship and Leadership in sport and the Athletic Department 
  • Support the Team Plan set the Head Coach and be responsible for its execution
  • Partner in the development and implementation of daily practices
  • Film breakdown and game analysis
  • Scouting of upcoming opponents and implementation of game plan
Provide administrative support to enhance operations of Valor Athletics (Full-Time Coaches Only) 
  • In addition to the responsibilities of a Head Coach, you will also serve in essential administrative roles as-needed by the athletic department
  Partner Exceptionally with Community of Support Available in Valor Athletics
  • Be committed to partnering with parents
  • Support athletes in being their best physically through the Valor Performance and Valor Sports Medicine programs
  • Assist athletes and families in College Recruiting process with the College Recruiting Coordinator, when applicable
  • Serve as the leader of the Girls Lacrosse summer camp programs (following the conclusion and prior to the start of the regular season) Full-time coaches only
  • Know and understand CHSAA rules and regulations with Director of CHSAA Compliance
  • Be a contributing member of the Valor Coaches Association by attending VCA events

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND REQUIRED COMPETENCIES 
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred. 
  • Previous outstanding experience in coaching Lacrosse
  • Demonstrated ability to lead others at a high level and appropriately manage a large team of assistant coaches  
  • Desire to run efficient and effective practices while balancing the academic load of our student athletes  
  • Experience in mentoring student-athletes  
  • Unwavering commitment and demonstrated success in integrating a faith-filled, Christ-centric process as the foundation of the program  
  • Must be able to relate with high school athletes  
  • Ability to effectively communicate with parents and other coaches  
  • Commitment to providing an exceptional customer experience for our student-athletes and their families  
  • Ability and willingness to make difficult decisions and deliver the truth with an appropriate measure of truth and grace  
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to multitask

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The same basic physical demands described here are the same for all employees to successfully perform the essential functions of their jobs. Employees must periodically lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and could occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral/depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics are varied and include classroom, office, and outdoor events while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is also varied.

POSITION TYPE: Seasonal (Stipend Coach) OR (Full-Time Coach)
A: Student-facing positions. Traditional school calendar. August – May Summer hours to lead Lacrosse summer camp program 
HOURS PER WEEK: Part-time. Not Benefit Eligible (stipend only) OR Full-Time, Exempt (Full-Time)
SUPERVISOR: Athletic Director
PAY RANGE: $10,000 - $20,000/year Stipend OR $50,000 - $60,000 Full-Time
START DATE: February 25th, 2025
