About the role

We are seeking a contract Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Writer to create and maintain SOPs for our pharmacy operations, customer service, and other business functions. A successful candidate will have excellent writing and communication skills, be able to work independently, and have experience creating SOPs for regulated industries.

What you"ll do

Primary Duties and Responsibilities for the job

  • Create and maintain SOPs for pharmacy operations, customer service, and other business functions
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather information and ensure accuracy of SOPs
  • Research and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards
  • Write clear, concise, and easy-to-understand SOPs
  • Review and revise SOPs as needed to ensure they remain current and effective
  • Ensure SOPs are properly formatted, numbered, and maintained
  • Collaborate with training team to ensure SOPs are incorporated into training programs
  • Assist in any duties necessary to ensure the functionality of the business

  • Ability to effectively communicate in brief and clearly expressed manner
  • Ability to read the tone of someone's voice and measure the cadence of the conversation to determine whether the prospect is satisfied or not
  • Ability to perceive, understand, harness and manage emotions
  • Ability to work with technology including but not limited to PK, Zendesk, Guru, Outlook, etc.
  • Familiarity with drug terminologies preferred
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to quickly build on conversation and relationships
  • Ability to stay calm and positive in stressful situations
  • Ability to multi-task and work in fast-past environment

  • Ability to acquire and present, with guidance, technical information through independent reading, interviews with subject matter experts and specialists, interpretation of workflows, flowcharts, or other appropriate methods
  • Qualifications

    Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Business, or a technical discipline with 2 years of related work experience
  • 2 to 5 years of previous experience in technical writing, specifically in creating SOPs or procedural documents
  • Experience in developing policies, procedures, manuals, or formal documents
  • Proficiency in using word processing software (e.g., Microsoft Word) and possibly other tools such as document management or content management systems (CMS)
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance standards relevant to our industry
  • Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy and consistency in SOPs
  • Ability to translate complex technical information into clear, understandable procedural documents
  • Strong research abilities to gather information from subject matter experts, technical documentation, and other relevant sources
  • Excellent organizational abilities to manage multiple documents, revisions, and updates effectively
  • Ability to analyze processes and procedures to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement
  • Excellent command of the English language, including grammar, spelling, and punctuation
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with experts and stakeholders to gather information and clarify requirements
  • The position requires strong technical writing skills
  • Pre-employment Drug testing is required

  • Compensation

    Valor's pay band range for this position is $24 to $30 per hour. This salary range may include multiple levels. Your level is based on our assessment of your interview performance and experience, which you can always ask the hiring manager about to understand in more detail. Salary is just one component of Valor's total compensation package for employees. Your total rewards package at Valor will include monthly catered employee celebrations lunch, PTO and Holiday pay policy, and other benefits.
