We are looking for a dedicated Food Service Associate to perform a variety of tasks related to food preparation and service in different food service environments. Responsibilities include preparing hot and cold foods, assisting with bakery item preparation, and maintaining cleanliness in work areas, equipment, and utensils. The role may also involve setting up and serving food, cashiering, and managing trash collection as needed. The ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills and a commitment to maintaining a clean and efficient work environment.

Requirements

Responsibilities 

· Set up food service, kitchen, or prep areas, including equipment and utensils, according to specific area needs and detailed instructions; check food temperatures and prepare areas for daily operations. May operate cooking or bakery equipment as assigned.

· Convey food and supplies from the main kitchen, bakery, or food preparation area to the serving site, either by carrying or utilizing a motorized cart.

· Follow prescribed procedures to set up hot and cold food lines, ice cream, yogurt, and/or ice machines, selecting the appropriate utensils and ensuring they are set to the proper temperature for menu items.

· Prepare or assist in the preparation of hot and cold foods, beverages, sandwiches, and other items as appropriate to the position.

· Replenish foods, plasticware, dishes, and trays at serving stations and order/replenish condiments as necessary.

· Address day-to-day issues concerning equipment and food supplies, detecting and ensuring the proper disposal of spoiled or unattractive food, defective supplies or equipment, and other unusual conditions.

· Clean and maintain work areas, including floors, facilities, service ware, utensils, and equipment; collect and place garbage in designated containers.

· Provide guidance and training to other employees performing related work.

· Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

· Requirements 

· Must demonstrate a strong understanding of and commitment to safety protocols in the workplace.

· A safety-first mindset is required. Candidates must be willing to follow safety guidelines and complete safety training as needed.

· Must demonstrate a strong work ethic and be reliable in attendance and punctuality

· Effective verbal and written communication skills are required for interacting with team members, customers, and management.

· Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and maintain a positive working relationship.

· Must possess critical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify issues and find solutions effectively.

· Attention to detail and accuracy in performing tasks, following procedures, and meeting deadlines.

· Outstanding customer service skills, with a focus on providing a positive experience.

· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all tasks.

· Strong knowledge of ordering supplies, equipment, and managing inventory control.

· Proficient in safely using cleaning equipment and supplies.

·  Ability to lead, train, and guide staff and/or students effectively.

· Expertise in food service line setup and maintaining proper temperature requirements.

· Skilled in cooking and preparing a diverse range of foods.

· Familiarity with food preparation, presentation methods, and maintaining high-quality standards.

· High school diploma or equivalent, with at least 1 year ofexperience

· Ability to stand for up to 8 hours and lift up to 20 pounds. Must be able to stock and clean the store, both inside and outside.
