Position Description:
Valparaiso University - Partner Solutions is recruiting adjunct instructors for its Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) Training Program. The positions have the opportunity to be remote for didactic and there could be some opportunity as well for hands-on lab work on campus. These positions will assist as needed in this unique program which is an employer-University created to allow learning while working in a lab three days a week. Major Responsibilities:
- Instructs students didactically in clinical laboratory science in the classroom setting; utilizes effective educational methodologies and technologies to provide curriculum to the students; coordinates and supervises student laboratory instruction; maintains technical expertise in clinical areas of instruction.
- Ensure adequate delivery of clinical laboratory curriculum for all disciplines.
- Identifies the areas of the program in which meeting the qualifications necessary to teach. These areas include: Hematology, Immunology/Serology, Clinical Chemistry, Blood Bank and Microbiology.
- Evaluate student performance and provide feedback.
- Report back to the director what worked well and what didn’t during the time of teaching.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree Preferred
- Minimum of 3 years-Related work experience in a clinical laboratory and didactic and/or clinical teaching experience(Required)

- Effective verbal and written communications skills.
- Effective time management and organization skills.
- Enthusiastic and passionate about working with students from a variety of backgrounds.
- Able to manage multiple tasks and set priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to work independently with a minimum of supervision.
- Online teaching experience
