Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Able to perform all Job Responsibilities and Qualifications of a CNC Machinist I
- Intermediate programming of CNC turning and milling equipment
- Set up and Operation of all CNC turning and milling equipment (precision/critical)
- Read and interpret intermediate machine code (G, S, and M)
- Machine and manufacture valve trim and bodies to critical tolerances as provided by the manufacturer
- Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, depth, and cut angle. Program or Edit as needed
- Able to research and locatemanufacturer drawings
- Read and interpret manufacturer drawings and dimensions
- Detect and correct any operating malfunctions (broken or worn tools, offsets)
- Calibration and certification of machining equipment / tools in accordance withinternal Quality procedures
- Program and machine ACME, Stub ACME, SAE, and Metric threads (right and left handed)
- Program and perform 4-Axis milling operations such as slotting, drillingand tapping, counter boring, and thread milling
- Support CNC Machinist I through mentoring and / or on the job training
- Understanding and usage of advanced measuring tools (micrometer, depth gauge, calipers, etc.)
- Introductory learning to program multiple lead threads (right and left handed)
- Education & Experience
- HS Education or GED Equivalent a plus
- Machinist degree preferred
- 2-5 years’industry experienceas a Machinist
- Skills & Abilities
- A clear understanding of machining safety
- Demonstrates proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Basic OSHA and TWIC card (TWIC ,only if required)
- Knowledge of applicable internal quality procedures
- Effectiveoral & written communication skills
- Demonstrates proficiencyin all machining equipment, setup, and operation
- Demonstrates“can do” attitudeand excellent customer service skills
- Supervision:
- Minimal supervision required
- Must be able to travel and have a clear driving record in accordance tocompany driving guidelines
- Clear background check and drug/alcohol screening
- Lifting: up to 50 pounds
- Adjusting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions
- Lift and carry: 50 pounds for 100 feet
- Bending, stooping, walkingand climbing stairs
- Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps
- Moving self in different positionsto accomplishtasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces
- Remainingin a stationary position, often standingor sitting for prolonged periods
- Moving about to accomplishtasks or moving from one worksite to another
- Communicating with others to exchange information
- Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
- Operating machinery and/or power tools
- Operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment
- Assessing the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned
- Required physical ability if mandated by customer or regulatory requirements
