What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler - Shipping*Receiving position at Valtir LLC?
Valtir is searching for Shipper/Receiver team members in our Orangeburg, SC plant. As a Highway Guardrail Manufacturer team member, you will perform general manual labor tasks including loading, unloading, lifting, assembling, and moving materials.
Monday-Friday 7:00AM-3:30PM and overtime as needed on Saturday.
What you’ll do:
- Understand proper stacking and packing process
- Monitor and identify errors or defects in complex products
- Operate forklift
- Load trucks, move inventory, package material for outbound shipments
- Perform cycle counts on inventory
- Build and assemble hardware for shipments
- Follow all safety rules and practices
- Perform other duties as assigned
Work Environment
- Work in a manufacturing environment that is not climate controlled.
- The job is a fast paced, heavy industrial environment and you may be required to work within various areas of the plant.
- Safety is our highest priority and safety procedures / guidelines must be adhered to at all times. This includes safety wear such as hearing and eye protection, protective clothing and steel-toed shoes.
- Attendance and showing up to work on time are important to the success of the plant. Dependable job attendance is expected.
What you’ll need:
- Steady work history- minimum of 1 year experience
- Ability to understand technical aspects of the job
- Ability to follow verbal, written instructions and procedures
- Ability to perform all essential functions safely and efficiently
- Ability to function as a team member and to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
