What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler position at Valtir LLC?
Valtir is hiring a Material Handler to support our Lima, OH manufacturing facility. The Material Handler must have the ability to get on and off equipment continuously throughout the shift. Along with the ability to complete documentation and read orders, the Material Handler must operate various types of equipment, understand inventory, move and manipulate heavy products and be willing to work outside in the elements every day.
1st Shift: FULL-TIME
Job Duties Include, but not limited to:
- Package and stage material for outbound shipments
- Complete all required checks/inspections and document appropriately
- Load / Unload trucks safely, operating a forklifts
- May operate fabrication equipment such as rolling & curving machines
- Accurately count and check required materials
- Understanding 5S policies and procedures and meets/exceeds a5S and safety standards
- Understanding quality policies/procedures and ensures quality of product meets standards during preparation and packaging material
- Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
Working Environment:
- Conditions can be hot, cold, dirty, and noisy.
- The job is within a fast paced, heavy industrial environment and you may be required to work within various areas of the plant.
- Safety is our highest priority and safety procedures / guidelines must be adhered to at all times. This includes safety wear such as hearing and eye protection, protective clothing and steel-toed shoes.
- Attendance and showing up to work on time are important to the success of the plant. Reliable and predictable attendance is expected.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of industrial of warehouse experience, loading flatbed trailers preferred
- Must have valid drivers license
- Ability to operate and climb up onto various types of mobile equipment
- Ability to lift up to 120lbs
- Ability to read orders and possess basic math skills
- Ability to follow directions and maintain a professional work environment
- Positive “Can Do” attitude, able to weather setbacks and cultural resistance.
- Must be able to work individually and as part of a team.
- Well organized, able to effectively support 5S and improvement initiatives with an hands-on approach

$3,000 sign on bonus. $1,000 paid out at 30 days, $1,000 paid out at 90 days & $1,000 paid out at 180 days.
