Description
Directs internal efforts in developing global implementation of best practices for procuring and receiving of products from suppliers and vendors through various distribution and logistics means. Responsible for developing, planning, implementing, analyzing and executing purchasing for all domestic entities. Collaborate with cross-functional leadership within the supply chain (Production, Engineering, Quality, Program Management, etc.) to ensure business unit goals are met.
Responsibilities
- Oversee end-to-end supply chain operations, including procurement, inventory management, production planning, logistics, and distribution.
- Develop and implement supply chain strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure timely delivery of materials and products.
- Ensure compliance with FDA regulations, ISO 13485 standards, and other regulatory requirements.
- Manage supplier selection, negotiations, and performance to ensure quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Support the development of the overall value stream with focus on inventory, lead times, and replenishment times.
- Monitor KPI’s to track supply chain performance and identify improvement opportunities.
- Optimize inventory levels to balance cost and availability, reducing waste and ensuring readiness.
- Creates a high performing supply base by developing existing partners or cultivating new partnerships.
- Work with Materials & Planning Manager to develop and implement inventory and planning strategies to support both MRP and non-MRP activities (i.e., reorder point planning, Kanban programs, safety stock demand planning, ABC categorization, etc.)
- Communicates effectively across all levels of the organization regarding strategy, risks, and opportunities. Identifies and proposes solutions for mitigating risk or improving product and/or process.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Operations, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in supply chain management, preferably within the medical device or regulated manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of FDA regulations, ISO 13485, and GMP requirements related to supply chain operations.
- Proven leadership experience with a track record of managing teams and driving supply chain improvements.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and supply chain management software.
- Certification in supply chain management (e.g., APICS, CSCP, CPSM) is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up at15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the facility.
