Description
The Process Engineer is responsible for designing and implementing systems and equipment procedures used in the manufacturing facility. This role involves developing and implementing process strategies, managing process resources, optimizing current processes, and maintaining process documents to maintain production efficiency and reduce costs.
Essential Functions
- Test and monitor equipment
- Update current system processes
- Conduct research to develop new and improved processes for manufacturing
- Conduct risk assessments
- Design and plan equipment layout
- Conduct tests and monitor the process performance throughout production
- Troubleshoot any problems associated with the manufacturing process
- Cover the post SMT and PCBa and box build processes
- Owns process flow, optimization, efficiency, travelers, and Build Process Instructions (MPFs)
- Evaluate processes and equipment to ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations
- Drives LEAN /Continuous process improvement
- NPI Project and Process development
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2-5 years of experience in fast paced manufacturing environment, process engineering
- Lean/Six Sigma and continuous process improvement training
- Experience in Mechanical, Electrical and Fluidics. Must be willing to work in a cleanroom environment, if necessary.
- Experience operating in a regulated manufacturing environment (ISO9001; ISO13485 Preferred)
- Knowledge of manufacturing methods, process & quality standards
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in statistical analysis and process optimization tools
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent technical skills
- Knowledge of process related standards
- Experience in process simulations
- Experienced with MS office tools (e.g. Excel, Word)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
