Duties
- Safely operate delivery vehicles, including those with manual transmission.
- Load and unload goods from the vehicle, ensuring proper handling and care of items.
- Navigate assigned routes efficiently while adhering to traffic regulations and safety protocols.
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, addressing any inquiries or concerns from clients.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including delivery confirmations and any discrepancies.
- Conduct regular vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance with company standards.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to coordinate loading schedules and optimize delivery processes.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving or as a delivery driver is preferred.
- Familiarity with moving and handling various types of cargo safely.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks effectively.
- Strong route driving skills with a good understanding of local geography.
- Excellent customer service skills, demonstrating professionalism in all interactions.
- Ability to work independently while managing time effectively to meet delivery deadlines.
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is essential; additional certifications may be required based on vehicle type.
