Our schools are as follows: Downtown Value School, serving K-8th Grade; Everest Value School, serving K-8th Grade; Central City Value High School, serving 9th-12th Grade; and University Prep Value High School, serving 9th-12 Grade.

Job Summary
Reports To: Network SPED Director
Location: Dual Sites - Everest Value School and Downtown Value School
The School Psychologist supports students' academic, social, emotional, and behavioral well-being by applying expertise in mental health, learning, and behavior. This role involves collaborating with educators, parents, and other professionals to create safe, healthy, and supportive learning environments that strengthen students' ability to succeed in school.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assessment & Evaluation

Conduct psycho-educational assessments, including but not limited to Initial Evaluation, Triennial Evaluation, Manifestation Determination, Functional Behavioral Analysis, Social Emotional Evaluation, and others as needed.

Administer, score, and interpret standardized tests, behavioral observations, and other assessment tools.

Prepare comprehensive reports summarizing findings and recommendations.

Assist in determining eligibility for special education services under federal and state regulations.
Intervention
-
Develop and implement intervention strategies to support students with learning difficulties, disabilities, or mental health concerns.

Assist in crisis intervention, suicide prevention, and trauma-informed care.
-
Support students through behavioral and academic interventions, including Response to Intervention (RTI) and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS).
Collaboration & Consultation
-
Work with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and 504 plans.

Contribute to Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, interpret psycho-educational assessment results, and collaborate with the team to determine special education eligibility and provide program recommendations.

Provide guidance and support to Behavior Intervention Implementers (BIIs) in implementing behavior plans, data collection, and intervention strategies.

Consult with educators and families to provide strategies for improving student learning and behavior.

Serve as a resource for faculty and staff on student mental health and behavioral issues.

Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, student study teams, and special education evaluations.
Program Development & Compliance

Assist in the development of school-wide mental health and wellness programs.

Ensure compliance with state and federal laws, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Section 504.

Maintain confidentiality and accurate records in accordance with legal and ethical guidelines.

Provide training for school staff on mental health awareness, crisis intervention, and behavioral strategies.

Utilizes technology as part of data-based decision-making practices and progress monitoring, specifically the use of the Welligent

Minimum Qualifications

Evidence of agreement with the five core values of Value Schools.

Master’s or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or a related field.

Credentials : Valid California Pupil Personnel Services Credential - School Psychology

National Certification in School Psychology (NCSP) preferred.
Experience & Skills

Experience in K-12 school settings preferred.

Strong knowledge of psychological and educational assessment tools.

Familiarity with special education laws, processes, and best practices.

RETIREMENT
CalSTRS/CalPERS
Value Schools employees who meet the qualifications will be enrolled in either CalSTRS (for certificated employees) or CalPERS (for classified employees).
These are considered a defined benefit retirement plan as pension payments are determined by a set formula and are payable for life. This contrasts with a defined contribution plan (like a 403(b)), in which benefits are determined not by a formula, but solely by the amount of contributions in an account, plus earnings.
403(b) and Roth 403(b) – This is a voluntary plan administered through the Third -Administrator (TPA) SchoolsFirst.
Summary of Benefits
Compensation - Value Schools provide competitive salaries, which are reviewed every three years. Based on relevant prior work experience and education, our salary range for this role is $91,000-$123,000.
MEDICAL - Value Schools pays 100% of the premiums for EMPLOYEES electing either Kaiser HMO or the Anthem HMO 30 plans, and a portion of the premium for EMPLOYEES who elect either the Anthem HMO 10 or Anthem PPO or Anthem H.S.A. as well as a portion of the premium for dependents.
DENTAL – Value Schools pays 100% of the premiums for EMPLOYEES electing DHMO insurance through CalDental, and a portion of the premiums for EMPLOYEES who elect coverage through the Dental PPO or the Dental PPO Buy-Up plans offered (administered through Principal).
VISION – Value Schools pays 100% of the Anthem Vision premiums for EMPLOYEES, and a portion of the premiums for dependents.
Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) – Value Schools provides $25,000 life insurance to all full-time employees as well as AD&D insurance, both at no cost to the employee.
Employee Assistance Program (EAP)- Provided through Anthem at no cost to all employees (and their family members). An EAP provides a confidential source that employees can use to find support and resources for certain challenges they face. This includes, but is not limited to, issues such as alcohol or substance misuse; child/elder care; relationship challenges; financial/legal issues; wellness matters and traumatic events. What is a Charter School?
The specific goals and operating procedures for a charter school are detailed in the agreement (also referred to as the charter, petition, or charter petition) between the authorizing entity and the school’s organizers. It is the intent of the California Legislature under state law that charter schools operate independently from the existing school district structure as a method to accomplish all of the following:
