Job Description:
Value Technology is looking for a seasoned Kafka Engineer Developer with strong experience in distributed messaging platforms, particularly Apache Kafka, to join our team onsite in Charlotte or Raleigh, NC. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience building, managing, and optimizing Kafka platforms within large-scale, complex enterprise environments. You will work closely with architecture, development, and operations teams to ensure smooth integration, scalability, and security of data streaming pipelines in a financial services setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 8 to 10 years of IT experience in enterprise systems development.
- Strong hands-on experience with Kafka platform (3 to 8 years).
- Experience with Kubernetes-based deployments (1 to 3 years), especially OpenShift or Amazon EKS.
- Familiarity with other messaging platforms like IBM MQ is a plus.
- Experience working with ITIL frameworks and incident tracking systems.
- Ability to write technical documentation in a structured development environment.
Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex Kafka platform issues across the lifecycle from build to retirement.
- Design, implement, and maintain high-performance, scalable Kafka-based solutions.
- Provide consultation and contribute to logical program designs, stable application systems, and Kafka-centric software solutions.
- Drive automation, monitoring, and deployment best practices.
- Support systems integration and performance testing for enterprise applications.
- Mentor junior developers and support teams on Kafka best practices and development lifecycles.
- Lead engineering excellence initiatives, improving performance and reliability of Kafka infrastructure.
- Guide the transition to high-level architecture for scalable and secure event-driven solutions.
Required Qualifications:
- Skill set must: Kafka, Java, Data base, bachelor's degree in computer science, CIS, or a related field.
- 8 to 10 years of software development, database technologies.
- Proven experience implementing solutions through all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the United States.
