Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Electronics Lab Technician to support Aerospace Ground Support Engineering (AGSE) operations. The technician will be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, and repair of electronic equipment used in aerospace ground support applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in analog and digital electronics, diagnostics, and technical problem-solving in an aerospace or defense environment.
Duties
- Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electronic components and systems used in aerospace ground support equipment.
- Perform calibration on avionics test equipment, power supplies, and other electronic devices.
- Utilize schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to diagnose faults and implement repairs.
- Operate electronic test instruments such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, and multimeters.
- Work with microprocessors, sensors, and power distribution units to ensure proper functionality.
- Perform soldering, circuit board repair, and cable assembly as needed.
- Document maintenance activities, test results, and technical reports following industry and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with engineers, quality assurance teams, and logistics personnel to enhance equipment reliability.
- Ensure all work complies with FAA, DoD, and aerospace industry regulations and safety standards.
- Assist in modifications and upgrades of ground support electronics to meet evolving aerospace requirements.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent military training).
- 2 years of experience in electronics maintenance, preferably in aerospace, defense, or industrial applications.
- Proficiency in reading schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
- Experience with digital/analog circuits and troubleshooting electronic control systems.
- Strong knowledge of electronic testing and diagnostic equipment.
- Understanding of ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) protection and soldering techniques.
- Knowledge of FAA, DoD, and ISO standards related to ground support electronics.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with military or commercial aerospace ground support equipment.
- Certifications such as IPC J-STD-001
- Hands-on experience with aircraft test stands, avionics checkout systems, or data acquisition units.
· Experience in CAD modeling
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Work in laboratories
- May require occasional travel for field service and support missions.
· Must have high degree of communication skills and attention to detail
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $72,800.00 - $83,200.00 per year
