Value Vinyl Extrusion Inc., a leading Windows & Doors manufacturer in the Southern California area is currently hiring a Quality Control Inspector in Moreno Valley, CA.
Summary Description: The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for ensuring that extruded profiles meet specified quality standards and requirements. This individual is responsible for inspection, testing, documentation and reporting procedures.
The Quality Control Inspector monitors the Extrusion process to identify potential defects during production and ensures extruded products adhere to AAMA 303 standards, company specifications and customer requirements.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Works with Plant Manager and Production Supervisors to establish company’s quality control procedures/processes/SOP.
- Assists Plant Management in ensuring that products meet industry standards, and that it follows AAMA 303 requirements at all times to avoid losing AMMA Certification.
- Adheres to AMMA 303 certification to establish daily AQL sampling and inspection activities.
- Performs AAMA audit off extruded products and documents inspection results.
- Analyzes production and quality data using statistical tools such as standard deviation to identify trends, variations, and potential process inefficiencies. Maintains detailed logs and documents any deviation from standards and reports them to Production Supervisors or Plant Manager.
- Uses various lab instruments and equipment such as laser scanner, colorimeter, impact resistance tester, UV weatherability testing equipment to verify products meet technical specifications including thickness, strength, and surface quality.
- Participates in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes, enhance product quality, and reduce waste.
- Identifies the root cause of defects and collaborates with production and engineering teams to resolve issues. Suggest process improvements to enhance quality and production flow.
- Follows safety and quality protocols during inspections.
- Other duties and special projects as need arise.
Experience Requirements:
- Ability to read blueprints required.
- 1-2 years of prior experience in QC/QA in a manufacturing environment
- Be able to use power tools and test equipment for extruded profiles such as oven, scale, calipers, straightness checker, colorimeter, profile scanner, profile saw, etc.
- General understanding of material handling, manufacturing processes, equipment and quality control systems.
- Proficiency in Math, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, using whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
- Effective verbal and written communication in English. Bilingual is a plus. English/Spanish or English/Chinese proficiency.
- NetSuite ERP or equivalent work experience preferred.
Training & Education:
- High school diploma required.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field preferred, or a combination of education and experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suites.
