Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Rating Developer with expertise in Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance to design, develop, and maintain rating engines and systems. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with rating algorithms, policy administration systems, and insurance rating methodologies while working with platforms like Guidewire PolicyCenter, Duck Creek Rating, OneShield, or other insurance rating engines.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, configure, and implement rating algorithms and insurance rating systems.
Collaborate with actuaries, business analysts, and developers to understand rating logic and implement accurate calculations.
Work with rating tables, rules, and underwriting guidelines for different P&C insurance products.
Integrate rating engines with policy administration systems (PAS), billing, and claims platforms.
Troubleshoot and optimize rating workflows to improve performance, accuracy, and compliance.
Implement and maintain rating models in compliance with state regulations and underwriting policies.
Conduct unit testing and regression testing to ensure accuracy and system stability.
Document rating system configurations, processes, and code changes.
Required Skills & Experience:
3 years of experience as a Rating Developer in the P&C insurance domain.
Strong expertise in rating engines like Duck Creek, Guidewire Rating, OneShield, Majesco, or custom-built rating systems.
Experience with insurance products (Personal, Commercial, Specialty Lines).
Hands-on experience with SQL, XML, JSON, Java, .NET, or scripting languages for rating logic development.
Familiarity with rating methodologies, ISO rates, actuarial models, and underwriting rules.
Understanding of insurance policy lifecycle, rating factors, endorsements, and premium calculations.
Experience working with REST/SOAP APIs for integrating rating engines with PAS and other systems.
Knowledge of cloud-based rating solutions (AWS, Azure, Guidewire Cloud, or SaaS platforms) is a plus.
Strong problem-solving, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
