What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tool Crib Attendant position at Valve Research & Manufacturing Co.?
The Tool Crib Attendant is responsible for the dispensing and maintenance of the tool crib. The attendant must ensure that all tools and equipment are available, and in good condition per internal policies/standard operating procedures. The attendant tracks inventory, manages tool repairs, ensures tool availability, and interfaces with other teams as required. The attendant will also monitor tool usage patterns and report any equipment issues that require attention.
Responsibilities
- Ensure proper issuance and return of tools/equipment and maintain accurate records.
- Organize all tools and ensure they are properly stored, cleaned, and maintained per internal company requirements.
- Perform checks of the tool crib both on a regular basis and as requested, noting missing tools, low stock, etc.
- Assist in preparing tools and all other equipment is available for operators when needed per internal company requirements.
- Record and report any issues or discrepancies arising from inventory, storage, tool quality, etc.
Requirements
- Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent; relevant vocational or technical training is preferred.
- Must possess 2-3 years of prior experience in a similar environment, preferably in manufacturing, aerospace, and/or aviation.
- Must have strong attention to detail and comfortable working in fast paced environments.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs and work in a physically demanding environment.
- A background check and drug screen are contingent upon hiring
