The Senior Quality Engineer is responsible for the development, implementation, and management of quality processes across Valvoline Global Operations. The main deliverable is development and maintenance of global standards for quality. This role ensures that quality standards are consistently met, drives continuous improvement initiatives, builds tools, and maintains compliance with regulatory requirements across all locations.
This role will be onsite Tuesday - Thursday in Lexington, KY.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Work with stakeholders to develop, implement, and maintain global quality processes. Ensure alignment with industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 17025, IATF) and company policies.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and lead initiatives to enhance quality, efficiency, and productivity.
Oversee the investigation of quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation of quality processes, audit findings, corrective actions, and continuous improvement activities.
Work closely with R&D, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and other departments to ensure alignment and integration of quality processes
Stay current with regulatory requirements and industry standards. Ensure global compliance with all applicable regulations.
Provide leadership and guidance to regional teams. Foster a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for quality. Prepare and present quality reports to senior management.
Other responsibilities as outlined by Valvoline as required.
What You’ll Need
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Chemistry, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred
Ability to travel up to 40%
Minimum of 10 years of experience in quality management, with a focus on OEM, lab, and plant environments.
Deep knowledge of quality management systems and standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 17025, IATF).
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
Ability to lead and influence cross-functional and cross-regional teams.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in quality tools and methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean).
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
What Will Set You Apart
Experience in a global or multinational organization
Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Manager (CQM), or equivalent certification preferred.
IATF certification
