About the Role
The Inventory Control Specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing inventory procedures, accurately tracking incoming and outgoing materials, scheduling and conducting cycle counts, and overseeing job costing and closure processes. This position involves managing inventory personnel across all shifts and ensuring compliance with Van-Am's safety, health, and environmental policies.
The role also requires coordinating shipping, receiving, and material handling activities, maintaining accurate inventory records, and reconciling physical stock counts with system data. You will play a key role in recruiting and training staff, developing analyses to improve inventory accuracy, and ensuring that inventory processes align with company goals.
Qualifications and Experience
To succeed in this position, you will need at least three years of experience in warehouse and inventory management within a manufacturing environment. Strong communication and presentation skills are essential, along with proficiency in Excel and experience working with ERP/MRP systems, such as Epicor.
Responsibilities
As the Inventory Control Specialist, you will oversee the inventory department, ensuring accurate record-keeping and efficient operations. You will maintain safety compliance while managing personnel, developing reliability improvement procedures, and implementing training programs to enhance inventory accuracy.
Your duties include performing regular cycle counts, establishing and maintaining ABC analyses, and reconciling inventory levels. You will ensure all costs are captured before closing jobs and placing items into inventory. Additionally, you will handle shipping, receiving, and material handling activities as needed.
