We are pioneers in the fight against cancer, Parkinson's, and other diseases. We are committed to inspiring the next generation of scientists and educators.
Postdoctoral Fellow in Neuro Epigenetic Lab
Multiple postdoctoral positions are available in the laboratory of Dr. Bangan Wang in the Department of Neurodegenerative Science in the Van Andel Institute (VAI). Dr.Wang’s lab leverages innovative single-cell multi-omics technologies to decipher the layers of epigenetic mechanisms including DNA methylation and 3D chromation structure that regulate the brain cell development and neurodegenerative diseases. Projects in the laboratory encompass a broad range of approaches, from hands-on bench experiments to computational analysis of large-scale datasets. Our cutting-edge single-cell technologies are uniquely developed in-house and being utilized in a series of high-impact consortium projects aimed at unraveling cellular diversity within the brain, like CZI-Human Cell Atlas, the AHA-Allen Initiative, and the NIH BRAIN Initiative.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to be trained with both traditional and state-of-the-art technologies and will work in a highly interdisciplinary environment that allows close interaction with the growing research community at the Van Andel Institute (VAI). VAI is a leading independent non-profit biomedical life sciences research and education facility. The Institute is home to more than 200 scientists and support staff that work in on-site laboratories and in collaborative partnerships that span the globe. The department provides a stimulating multidisciplinary environment for state-of-the-art research to understand the intricate mechanics of epigenetic and neurodegenerative disease.
Qualifications:
