Overview
The Food and Nutrition Services team is looking for a customer-service oriented Food Service Worker to prepare, season, and cook food for hospital patients, employees, and visitors. The right candidate will be responsible for preparing food in a sanitary and appetizing way. The person in this role must meet the various schedules, prepare proper quantities, serve on the tray line, operate and clean equipment, and help avoid food/supply waste. In addition, a variety of other routine kitchen and cafeteria duties will be performed. This position will perform various cashier duties involving collecting funds, issuing proper change, and daily balancing of a cash drawer. The person in this role must maintain diet records, tally food requirements on work sheets for cooks, and other similar tasks. This position will prepare food menus and trays for patients to meet their diet, diagnosis and age requirements.
Food service workers must have the ability to work varied shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Additionally, the position requires cross-training in other EVS and support service positions. Previous experience in the food service industry is preferred, but we will train the right candidate.
