Rate of Pay : $16.30 - $17.95 PURPOSE Provide clerical and administrative support to the Probate Court. KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs; exceptional keyboarding skills. Ability to operate standard office equipment (PC, keyboard, calculator, printer, multi-line telephone, fax, photocopier, scanner, etc.
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of court records. Proven ability to manage a high volume of work efficiently and effectively.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills. Independent judgment and adaptability to changes, including technological advancements.
Ability to provide courteous and professional service to the public, case parties, attorneys, judges, and co-workers. Ability to perform duties in an unbiased, respectful manner.
WORK ENVIROMENT Work is primarily performed in an office setting, requiring prolonged sitting and standing. Some light physical activity may be involved.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Assist the public with paperwork submissions and inquiries at the service window. Answer phone calls and assist the public with court-related questions.
Provide information on Probate Court rules and regulations. Process payments, issue receipts, and perform other office accounting tasks.
Prepare and process daily scanning for active and closed files. Manage and process mental health case files and judge-signed orders.
Monitor active files to ensure proper case flow, including Minor and Adult Guardianship Reviews. Review and distribute the court docket weekly.
Process incoming mail and organize it in appropriate files. Provide backup assistance in the courtroom as needed. Perform various administrative duties as assigned.

Proven typing speed and accuracy . Proficiency in computer operation and related software. Effective communication skills.
Previous experience in customer service. Excellent command of English grammar and proofreading skills. Preferred : Experience in a court setting or equivalent education or professional background.
SUPERVISION This position reports to the Family Division and Probate Court Supervisor who in turn reports to Trial Court Administrator.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS Candidates must demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in an active and changing court environment and show the ability to work effectively with individuals in financially and emotionally challenging situations.
Professionalism and decorum are required when interacting with both attorneys and self-represented litigants. Candidates must be capable of working independently and as part of a team.
