Job Goal(s):
This position is primarily responsible for providing an exceptional new hire onboarding experience. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to fingerprinting and background checks and records management.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Associate’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Work Experience:
Minimum of three years in human resources or related fields and responsibilities is preferred.
Skills:
- Proficiency with computer software applications such as Google Suite and HR software.
- Highly reliable and organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
Essential Job Functions:
- Coordinate and facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition into the ISD.
- Assist new employees with completing required onboarding paperwork including background checks.
- Fingerprint local district employees and substitutes.
- Stay up to date on State Legislation concerning fingerprinting laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with IT and other departments to ensure new employees have the necessary equipment, access, and resources.
- Create and maintain personnel files on all VBISD employees.
- Process monthly billings for local school districts fingerprinting to the finance department.
- Process in-house transfers monthly for departmental billing of fingerprinting.
- EduStaff coordinator for Van Buren County.
- Confidentiality in all aspects of the position.
- Valid driver’s license required
- Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds.
- Other duties as assigned by the Administrator.
Terms of Employment: As per master agreement and provisions established by the Van Buren Board of Education.
