Are you a skilled Commercial Property Maintenance Technician, looking for a full-time opportunity to showcase your talents and be a part of a stable, yet growing company? Look no further! Van Buskirk Companies is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Commercial Property Maintenance Technician to join our Commercial Property Maintenance team.
As a Maintenance Technician you’ll play a vital part in ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and repair of Van Buskirk Companies’ commercial properties while maintaining high standards and exceptional customer service.
What You’ll Do:
- Building Maintenance: Perform general and preventive maintenance and repair work across VBC’s commercial properties. Assist with HVAC and refrigeration systems. Repair and maintain locks, keys, and access systems.
- Landscape and Groundskeeping: Conduct lawn and landscaping tasks, such as mowing, trimming, planting, weeding, watering, minor sprinkler repairs, and snow removal.
- Clean-up: Perform daily clean-up duties, such as trash removal and litter control from property grounds and parking lots.
- Tenant Request: Respond to tenant service calls, ensuring efficient and exceptional customer service.
- Service Records and Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of maintenance time and activities, and inventory supplies. Research and source materials from cost-effective vendors.
- Cost Accounting: Use electronic systems to record and track maintenance time and costs for billing purposes.
What We’re Looking For:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications are a plus.
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant maintenance experience, preferably in commercial property management or a similar role.
- Valid driver’s license and insurance for frequent travel between job sites.
- Proficiency in general maintenance methods, including the use of hand and power tools.
- Working knowledge of construction trades, including carpentry, plumbing, painting, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to read technical manuals and drawings to diagnose and troubleshoot issues.
- Resourceful problem-solving skills and adaptability to unconventional challenges.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety protocols.
- Professional verbal communication skills for courteous and responsive interactions with tenants, vendors and colleagues.
What You’ll Need:
- Physical ability to see, hear, and consistently lift and carry up to 50 lbs. (up to 100 lbs. with assistance).
- Mobility and endurance for frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling and ladder climbing.
- Manual dexterity and skilled hand-eye coordination to operate tools and equipment.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors, including in extreme weather conditions.
