Veterinary Technician Responsibilities
- Professional client communication and education obtaining medical histories and symptoms
- Laboratory procedures including but not limited to: hematology, cytology, urinalysis, microbiology, blood chemistry, and fecals
- Nursing skills including: restraining patients, administering medications PO/IV/SUBQ/IM, applying and maintaining bandages, proficient IV catheter placement and venipuncture, surgery prep, and anesthesia monitoring
- Competently perform dental prophylaxis and dental radiographs
- Applying clinic medical protocols
- Utilizing advanced veterinary clinical skills
· Track record of reliability attending shifts, great personality, team-player, self-starter, able to work at a fast pace and can meet the physical demands of being a technician.
· Duties would include but are not limited to, assisting doctors in exam rooms for both wellness and non-wellness appointments,
· Patient treatment and monitoring, in-house laboratory diagnostics including ear cytology, skin scrapings and blood/urine sampling,
· Taking radiographs, performing therapy laser treatments, pulling blood, placing IV catheters, filling of prescription medications, client education by phone and in person, and other clinical and patient care responsibilities.
· For qualified candidates, a rotation on surgery schedule with duties including surgery preparation, surgical assisting, monitoring anesthesia and dental cleanings and dental radiographs, instrument care and prep. All stages of preoperative, operative and postoperative patient care.

Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
Schedule:

- Monday thru Friday
Education:
- High school or equivalent (Required)
- Veterinary Technician Certification or Licensure (CVT, RVT, LVT, or LVMT) or the ability to transfer credentials from state to state(preferred)
- Associate degree in Veterinary Technology(preferred)
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 year of veterinary clinical experience
Ability to Relocate:
- West Columbia, SC 29169: Relocate before starting work (Required)
