Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Auto Mechanic to join our team at VanDam Auto and Truck Repair. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnostics & Repair:
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical and electrical issues in cars and light trucks.
- Use diagnostic tools to identify problems accurately and efficiently.
- Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid checks.
- Repair and replace worn or damaged parts such as brakes, shocks, belts, and hoses.
- Customer Service:
- Communicate effectively with service advisors and customers regarding repair needs and recommendations.
- Provide accurate estimates for repair times and costs.
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor with customers.
- Documentation & Compliance:
- Document repair work performed and parts used accurately.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Keep work area clean and organized.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an auto mechanic or in a similar role.
- ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification preferred but not required.
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools and repair equipment.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
- Ability to lift heavy parts and equipment.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical certification is a plus).
