What are the responsibilities and job description for the Painter position at Van Dellen Steel Inc.?
$18-$20/hr. based on experience.
Van Dellen Steel is a privately held corporation located in Dutton, Michigan. Our experienced staff, well equipped facility and tremendous record for meeting even the most difficult contract requirements have allowed us to become a recognized leader in West Michigan for fabricated structural steel since 1968. Currently we are looking for a Painter.
The Painter is responsible for preparing and painting structures and surfaces in industrial settings. Main responsibilities include:
- Mix paint products as required and prepare surfaces for painting.
- Paint various fabricated assemblies.
- Inspect completed work and correct defects.
- Comply with safety standards by following standards for chemical and fume risks/disposal, use appropriate personal protective equipment and apply the required safety procedures.
- Clean equipment and work areas and follow all instructions for the safe handling and disposal of chemicals and hazardous waste.
- Maintain industrial painting equipment on a daily basis to ensure proper functioning.
- Operate overhead cranes and other equipment following safety procedures.
- Perform other duties as needed or assigned.
Qualifications:
- No experience necessary; on the job training provided!
- Ability to read and understand simple and complex documents, journals, manuals.
- Experience with mathematical concepts.
- Ability to operate sand blasting equipment and paint spray applicators.
- Ability to operative overhead crane with on-the-job training.
