JOB DESCRIPTION: Transport & distribute products manufactured and handled by Van Diest Supply Company. Responsible for knowledge of and adherence to Company policies and safety regulations as well as governmental laws and regulations. DRIVER IS PAID HOURLY, NOT BY THE MILE.
Maintain a safe and courteous operation of all vehicles. Deliver and pick up product on a timely basis, accurately counting product. Secure cargo properly to avoid damage and DOT fines. Convey a friendly, courteous impression to customers. Maintain accurate DOT logs and complete other required paperwork. Have a good knowledge of hazardous material placarding and other government and safety requirements. Will work with and train. Complete pre-and post-trip inspections of all equipment used. Have ability to handle emergency situations and chemical spills. Responsible for knowing, understanding and following company policies and safety procedures, as well as DOT and other governmental laws and regulations. This includes practicing defensive driving, making a conscious effort to protect the safety of other motorists and pedestrians. Responsible for displaying a positive attitude toward job, co-workers, Team Members, customers, suppliers and the company. Work with an aim toward maximum productivity and the highest standard of quality. Team member must have a valid CDL license with Haz-Mat endorsement and Tanker endorsement or the ability to obtain them. Be able to understand and operate ELD’s (Electronic Logs). Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this position.

QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or GED required. Must have a Class A CDL license with Haz-mat and Tanker Endorsements. One year of over-the-road driving experience in all four seasons.
