The Parts Floater will establish a rapport with each parts department. Step in and continue business as usual when help is needed due to absence. Must be able to travel between all Van Horn locations. Issuing parts and accessories to technicians, selling to retail customers, and assist in the management of parts inventory.

Your Responsibilities:
- Travel between all Van Horn locations as needed
- Maintain levels of performance in the department during an absence.
- Stock in all incoming parts and reconcile parts invoice and actual parts receive
- Read and become familiar with all technical performance data concerned with product
- Maintain a list of the problems encountered daily which appear
- Reduce operating efficiency
- Indicate deficiency or inadequacy in policy or standard operating procedure
- Issue parts to technicians in the manner that minimizes the “awaiting parts” time, and place parts name and price on the repair order
- Order parts not stocked from factory, from other dealerships and parts suppliers as required
- Order parts as needed to keep the parts inventory at the correct level
- Cost parts on all repair work and/or parts on repair order where the cost amount is desired
- Write purchase orders for parts and sublet work needed from other firms
- Take telephone orders for parts and accessories
- Keep a record of all special parts orders and when the part arrives, notify the person who authorized the order
- Make sure all defective parts on factory claim repair work, that have to be returned to the factory, are turned in by the mechanics
- Help factory representative “scrap” parts held for factory claims
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license required
- Previous customer service experience
- Previous automotive parts experience preferred
