Job SummaryLooking for a detail-oriented and innovative Structural Engineer to join our client in Erie, PA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and overseeing the construction of various structures, ensuring they are safe, sustainable, and compliant with all regulations. This role requires a strong foundation in civil engineering principles and proficiency in modern engineering software.To note, this candidate for this role must be a US Citizen or have a Green Card (permanent residence), and will provide relocation for candidates outside of Erie, PA!DutiesProvide engineering, in given discipline, for assigned projects : this includes developing customer requirements, drawings, specifications for the installations, modifications, rearrangements, or expansion of manufacturing spaces, processes, office, labs or test areas.Utilize professional engineering experience and participate in process improvement ideas while experimenting with the manufacturing process and help convert into engineering solutions while taking into consideration robust safety factors for the fabrication of assembly aids, lifting fixtures...etc. to improve the safety, quality, and delivery of Wabtec operations.Liaison between all involved parties, repeatedly inspects both the job site and design plans ensuring that all is compliant with regulations, building codes, and engineering / safety plant standardsClearly understand the customer requirements and develop project statements, detailed scope of work, engineering / construction plans, resource planning, budget, schedules, and assess risks and mitigation plansEnsure timely and efficient completion of facility / manufacturing projects, maintain high say / do ratio in a dynamic problem-solving environmentExperienceBachelor’ degree in structural engineering from an accredited university or college with Professional Engineer certification or path to complete within 6-12 months is preferred.Minimum of 5 years of Structural or Civil Engineering experienceExperience in facilities planning, fabrication and structural design, construction management, and industrial safety / environmentSoftware Knowledge : Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Revit, Risa (or similar), Microsoft OfficeProject management Professional (PMP) certification is preferredStrong oral and written communication skills, interpersonal / leadership skills, computer skillsExcellent organizational skills and multi-tasking abilityExcellent planning / project management skillsStrong functional / working knowledge of electrical, mechanical engineering disciplinesKnowledge of the OSHA, NEC, NFPA, EHS, and state and local standardsKnowledge of schedule and resource planning techniques and softwareAbility to review dynamic situations and make decisions quicklyAbility to derive detailed scope of work plans and coordinate contractors to perform tasksCommunicate and drive safety and quality while maintaining costsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills and understanding of estimation and budgeting processStrong negotiation skills with customers, management, peers, and subordinatesStrong knowledge of contract administration; technical, legal and commercialFamiliarity with engineering and manufacturing processes and a technical background that provides value added customer interface
