Van Meter Community School District is a progressive growing district located 10 miles west of West Des Moines that is committed to developing a learning environment that is PERSONALIZED, INNOVATIVE, & GLOBAL. With excellent proximity to the Des Moines Metro area, the Van Meter Community School District offers the best of a small town community with quick access to all that the Des Moines area has to offer. District enrollment is approximately 1100 students, with one building, PreK-12. The Van Meter Community School District offers a comprehensive benefits package, including IPERS. Employees with proof of existing health insurance can choose to receive a monthly cash stipend in lieu of insurance. Employees receive 15 days of sick leave each year, the opportunity to transfer up to 20 days of sick leave from a previous district, opportunities to exchange sick leave for personal days, and the opportunity to get paid $225 for unused personal days. Every Friday afternoon is an early out for professional development opportunities. Teacher flex work days are offered for certain professional development days during the school year.

Salary
Experience honored, innovative performance based pay structure
Minimum salary of $56,000 (negotiable based on current salary)
Monthly cash stipend ($537) in lieu of health insurance if you already have health insurance coverage.

Performance Responsibilities
- Skilled at interpretation of assessment data to drive instruction.
- Ability to provide targeted instruction to identified students as well as the effective use of assessments and assessment data.
- Shared responsibilities between the elementary school and middle school.
- Knowledgeable of MTSS.
- Familiar with the FAST/MAP/Panorama platforms.
- Ability to work with a diverse group of learners.
- Review data to make instructional decisions to address learning gaps.
- Prepare and deliver focused math intervention instruction in a small group setting.
- Knowledge in math intervention strategies and implementation.
- Utilizes instructional management systems which increases student learning and maximizes time on task.
- Communicates effectively within the educational community and with parents on a regular basis.
- Collaboration and support of classroom teacher(s) for instructional planning and delivery.
- Monitor and maintain accurate records on student achievement, articulating the progress and growth.
- Assist in the scheduling and assignment of students to the program.
- Fosters a classroom climate conducive to learning.
- Promotes and maintains positive student-teacher-parent relationships.
- Maintains professional work habits.
- Provide and participate in training as required.
- Perform other job related duties as assigned by the Principal.
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Hold a bachelor's or higher degree and the required Iowa certificate for the assigned position.
- K-8 mathematics endorsement.
- Demonstrate the ability to work and communicate effectively with students, peers and adults.
- Successful completion of criminal background investigation.
