What are the responsibilities and job description for the Garden Center Assistant position at Van Putte Gardens?
Van Putte Gardens (a family-owned business) is looking for Seasonal Part-Time AND Full-Time Garden Center Assistants during our peak months.

Requirements:
- Must work well in a team
- Must be self-motivated and friendly towards customers
- Must have a flexible availability and be able to work days, evenings and weekends
- Must be comfortable bending, lifting and working outdoors in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions
- Must be able to lift 50lb bags of fertilizer/mulch/materials into vehicles repeatedly during your shift.
Responsibilities:
- Help customers load merchandise into their vehicles
- Daily maintenance duties, sweeping, cleaning, bathroom maintenance, gathering shopping carts, opening & closing procedures.
- Plant handling, pricing, moving materials
- Property maintenance
- Handyman skills are a plus (however, this is an entry-level position)
