Job Description:
- Prepare and dispense prescription medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist
- Maintain accurate patient records, ensuring all data is up-to-date and confidential
- Process, package, and label pharmaceuticals in compliance with pharmacy laws and regulations
- Manage the pharmaceutical inventory and alert pharmacists of any shortages or overstocks
- Deliver excellent customer service to patients and healthcare providers
- Collaborate with a healthcare team to optimize patient care
- Participate in continuing education and training programs as required
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification is preferred
- Experience in a pharmacy setting, preferably in a long-term care environment
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, pharmaceutical calculations, and drug names
- Proficient in using pharmacy management systems and Microsoft Office Suite
- Exceptional customer service skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask, maintain accuracy, and pay attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job, including lifting up to 25 pounds
