Job Description: We seek a detail-oriented and patient-focused Pharmacy Technician to assist Pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining patient records, and managing pharmacy operations in a long-term care setting.
Responsibilities:
- Assist Pharmacists with prescription medication preparation and dispensing.
- Maintain accurate patient records, ensuring all data is up-to-date and confidential.
- Process, package, and label pharmaceuticals in compliance with pharmacy laws and regulations.
- Manage pharmaceutical inventory and alert pharmacists of shortages or overstocks.
- Deliver excellent customer service to patients and healthcare providers.
- Collaborate with a healthcare team to optimize patient care.
- Participate in continuing education and training programs as required.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification is preferred.
- Experience in a pharmacy setting, preferably in a long-term care environment.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, pharmaceutical calculations, and drug names.
- Proficient in using pharmacy management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional customer service skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask, maintain accuracy, and pay attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job, including lifting up to 25 pounds.
