Nursery Person Delivery Driver : Full Time
Knowledge of plants and landscaping techniques desired. The best candidate will be an energetic, good-natured person, and have an excellent driving and safety record. This position is located at our Garden Center on Pueblo Ave. in Napa.
You’ll be expected to lift, carry, and move heavy items on a daily basis so you’ll need to be strong and fit. You must be able to lift 50 pounds regularly. You’ll move everything from 1 gallon cans to 24” box trees (with a tool!), water plants, load sold merchandise into vehicles, weed and clean the Garden Center grounds, move large plants and pottery, haul plants around the Garden Center, and create displays with direction from more experienced staff members. You’ll load and drive a box truck and deliver plants and pottery. You will need a valid Class C Driver’s License and a clean driving record for at least the last 7 years. You will spend most of your time outdoors, walking around our two-acre park-like property, our large growing grounds, and driving a Chevy 2500 HD box truck.
Customer service experience would be a huge plus. You’ll be responsible for greeting customers and connecting them to a more experienced employee when necessary. You'll get a lot of questions about plants, so you’ll need to be able to admit quickly when you don't have the answer and find someone on staff who does! We’re looking for someone who wants to learn!
