What are the responsibilities and job description for the Full-Time Juvenile Supervision Officer (Male) position at Van Zandt County Juvenile Probation Department?
We are seeking Full-Time Juvenile Supervision Officers to join our team. As a Juvenile Supervision Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining order and discipline within the facility while ensuring the safety and well-being of juvenile offenders ages 10 - 17.
Responsibilities:
Maintain security and control within the juvenile correctional facility;
Supervise and monitor the activities/behaviors of juveniles in custody;
Conduct regular checks and inspections of the facility to ensure safety and security;
Respond to incidents, emergencies, and disturbances within the facility;
Enforce rules, regulations, and policies to maintain order and discipline;
Conduct searches of juveniles, their living areas, and common areas for contraband;
Complete thorough and accurate reports regarding incidents, activities, and behavior of juveniles and their progress. Participate in training and development programs.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent, Must be 21 years of age, Must pass a criminal background check, drug screening and physical. Must possess a valid Driver's License. Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays, good communication skills both verbal and written required, on-call rotation required. Must be able to pass Handle with Care Restraint Training, CPR/First Aid Training, able to pass Texas Juvenile Justice Department Juvenile Supervision Officer Competency Exam. Must be of good moral character. Experience in a Juvenile Detention setting a plus. Be willing to obtain additional training, skills, experience and certification as Texas Juvenile Justice Department prescribes.
