Our client, a large member-owned science and engineering consulting firm, a is currently seeking a team-focused, innovative, and results-oriented Lead Electrical & Controls Engineer – Industrial Software who has a desire to contribute to our clients’ success and is looking for new learning experiences and opportunities for career growth. This position will be working out of their Green Bay, WI; Madison, WI; Chicago, IL; or Minneapolis, MN location. or from a remote home office.
This firms works with Fortune 500 companies to develop engineering-led solutions for the most complex consumer product production challenges. Their clients lead a broad range of industries and they leverage their team members’ experiences to support projects for new product introductions or line installations, custom machine solutions for unique packaging or product making needs, or systems analysis leading to throughput and efficiency gains.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Provide Electrical Controls and Information Systems Design and Programming for numerous automation and integration projects. Efforts will include Data Acquisition, Data Manipulation, Networking Design as well as custom programming for Processors, PCs and PLC control and HMI / Data Visualization systems. These efforts include new and upgraded systems as well as installation and start up commissioning support for new and existing production facilities.
- Respond and support project and client requests for troubleshooting on-going systems operations for production equipment and data acquisition / collection and control equipment (may include nights and weekends)
- Interface directly with client(s) on a daily basis to understand and respond to their needs
Required Qualifications :
BS in Electrical Engineering and / or a degree in directly related field of Information Technology (Networking, Cyber Security, etc.). Alternately, a combination of two or four year technology degree supplemented with equivalent technical training or experience
5-7 years of relevant Engineering / Design experience including implementation of a dozen or more successful projects in industrial or manufacturing environments
Demonstrate proven experience in the following technical areas :
SQL Server database programming
C, VB and other languages programming experience
Ethernet and Ethernet / IP Networking
Obtain & structure data for analysis
Implement and test queries on the data sets
Compile reports and data visualizations for decision-making
Proficiency in wired and wireless networking practices and technologies
Experience / training with Data Protection and implementing security provisions controlling :
access

altering
Preferred Qualifications :
10-12 years of relevant Engineering / Design experience
Rockwell ControlLogix based Industrial Architectures
Wonderware InTouch Visualization and data handling programming
Thin Client / Thin Server software implementations
Experience coordinating electrical engineering and leading design / CAD resources
Assist in the development project related documentation including schedules, specifications, and cost estimates
Preferred experience with the following :
Recipe, Batch, Data Collection and other similar project experience
Wonderware ArchestrA Visualization and data handling programming
Application deployment in a virtual server environment
SAP experience and understanding
WPA / WEP or 4G / 5G) networks
RFID (Radio Frequency Identification)
Bluetooth Low Energy and other emerging wireless communications technologies
