ABOUT THE POSITION
VHB's growing Watertown and Boston, MA offices are looking for a Senior Transportation Engineer / Planner to join our Transportation Planning & Operations group. The selected candidate will work with a dynamic team of transportation planners and engineers on a variety of public, private, and institutional projects within broad cross-section of markets, including real estate municipal, state agencies, higher education, federal lands and aviation. Our team uses its skills and experience to improve our communities with a sustainable, context-driven and integrated project delivery approach. Our clients include municipalities, MassDOT and other state agencies, and private partners who support the development of the places we live, work, recreate and learn.
Responsibilities
Work with a team of multi-disciplinary professionals in a variety of transportation-related areas to develop mobility solutions which consider all users integrating Complete Street concepts within urban and suburban communities.
- Technical task leader for the design / planning of transportation engineering and planning elements of projects that could include combinations of mid-level and junior level staff.
- Conduct multi-modal transportation analyses with the ability to focus on complex urban settings, municipal centers, and institutional campuses.
- Prepare transportation impact, corridor and intersection improvement studies.
- Conduct research and preparation of reports, and presenting findings and results to clients.
- Prepares proposals and / or contracts.
- Establishes budgets. Monitors project progress for technical accuracy and adherence to schedule and budget.
- Represents VHB at meetings with clients, agencies, and stakeholders to establish needs and discuss project issues.
- Reviews complete project documents for conformity and quality assurance.
