Job Description:
We are seeking experienced Pipefitters for a long-term contract position in Norfolk, VA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in shipboard and industrial pipefitting, with the ability to fabricate, install, and repair piping systems in accordance with blueprints and specifications.
Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Measure, cut, thread, bend, and install various pipe types (copper, steel, stainless steel, etc.)
- Fit and secure pipes using welding, brazing, or mechanical methods
- Conduct hydrostatic and operational testing of installed systems
- Troubleshoot and repair existing piping systems
- Ensure all work meets safety and quality standards
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Pipefitter, preferably in a shipyard or industrial setting
- Ability to read and interpret technical schematics and blueprints
- Experience with various pipe materials and installation methods
- Strong understanding of safety procedures and shipyard protocols
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
